Working Principle of Twin-Screw PET Sheet Extruder

 
The twin-screw PET sheet extruder adopts co-rotating parallel twin screws as the core component. During operation, PET granules (after crystallization and drying) are continuously fed into the barrel.
 
Under high shear and mixing from the rotating screws, the material is progressively heated, compressed, melted, and homogenized. The twin-screw structure provides strong self-cleaning, sufficient plasticization, and uniform shearing, effectively eliminating melt defects.
 
Volatile components such as moisture and low-molecular residues are removed through the vacuum venting system, preventing molecular degradation and bubbles.
 
The stable, uniform melt is then pushed through a sheet die and cooled by a three-roll calender unit, finally forming flat, transparent PET sheets with consistent thickness and good mechanical properties.
