Dairy Cup Production Lines: From Sheet Extrusion to Filled Yogurt Cup

What a Dairy Cup Line Actually Consists Of

Dairy cups are not made in one step. The process starts with plastic sheet and ends with a printed, rimmed, stackable cup ready for the filling line. A well-matched line keeps those two ends in balance, because a fast former fed by an undersized extruder simply waits.

Shantou Longsheng Industry Co., Ltd., founded in 1998 in Shantou City, Guangdong Province, supplies both halves of that equation: sheet extruders and cup making machines, together with precision molds.

The Three Stages

1. Sheet extrusion. PP or PS sheet is produced to the gauge and width the cup tool requires. Consistent thickness is what allows a cup wall to be thin at the base and rigid at the rim without weak spots.

2. Cup forming. The sheet is heated, formed into cup cavities and trimmed. Longsheng's cup making range includes the FS-8556 full servo, HSS-8556 hydraulic servo and HAI-8556 hydraulic models.

3. Rim and stack. The rim curl gives the cup its sealing surface for the lidding foil and its strength for stacking. Stack height consistency is what keeps a filling line running without jams.

Why Dairy Producers Care About the Cup Machine

Yogurt, jelly, pudding and mousse cups share a requirement: the rim must seal flat every time. A rim that varies by a fraction of a millimetre becomes a leaking cup after filling. Servo-driven forming and trimming stations hold that tolerance cycle after cycle, and hydraulic clamping on the HAI-8556 and HSS-8556 provides the forming pressure needed for deeper cup geometries.

Cups are also handled in enormous numbers, so output per hour and downtime per shift matter more than peak speed. Stable hydraulic and servo systems reduce the small stoppages that quietly consume capacity.

Materials and Food Contact

Longsheng machines process PP, PS, HIPS, PVC, PET, PLA, PE and biodegradable materials. Dairy cups are typically PP for heat tolerance and PS for clarity and cost, with PLA available where a compostable pack is required.

The company holds 25 authorised patents and is recognised as a high-tech enterprise, and it supports dairy factories with mold supply, installation guidance and operator training.
