Differences Between Air-Cooled Chillers and Water-Cooled Chillers
Many customers mistakenly think that air-cooled chillers blow out cold air, and only water-cooled chillers are for cooling water. In fact, this is not the case.
Both air-cooled and water-cooled chillers are used to cool the water in equipment or containers; the two only differ in heat dissipation processes and operating conditions.
For an air-cooled chiller, after the water tank converts water into chilled water and pumps it into the customer's equipment, the chiller dissipates its own heat through the heat dissipation net and fans inside the unit. It features simple pipe connection – you only need to connect a tap water pipe to the chiller's water tank and two inlet and outlet pipes to the customer's equipment for operation. It is easy to use and move, making it suitable for factories that find it inconvenient or troublesome to connect a cooling tower. However, the air-cooled chiller has requirements for its placement environment: it cannot be placed against walls or in corners, the workshop floor cannot be too low, the workshop cannot be too stuffy, and there must be good air circulation. Otherwise, its heat dissipation and refrigeration functions will be affected.
The working principle of a water-cooled chiller is that after the water tank cools the water, the water pump sends it into the customer's equipment that needs cooling. The chiller's own heat is removed by the cooling water of the cooling tower from the heat source in the chiller's condenser. Its advantages are that it is not picky about the environment or placement location – you can even place it in a corner against the wall without any impact on its heat dissipation and refrigeration. The refrigeration speed of a water-cooled chiller is 1.2 times that of an air-cooled chiller! Its disadvantage is that it must be used with a connected cooling tower, involving complicated pipe connection and being not easy to move at will.

水冷式冷水机组的工作原理是:水箱将水冷却后,水泵将水输送到需要冷却的客户设备中。冷水机组自身的热量由冷却塔中的冷却水从冷水机组冷凝器中的热源中带走。其优点是它对环境和安装位置不挑剔——你甚至可以把它放在墙角,而不会对其散热和制冷产生任何影响。水冷式冷水机组的制冷速度是风冷式冷水机组的 1.2 倍!其缺点是必须与连接的冷却塔一起使用,涉及复杂的管道连接,并且不易随意移动。
