Applications of High Barrier Sheets

High barrier sheets are advanced multi-layer co-extruded materials (often incorporating EVOH, PA, PVDC, or AlOx coatings) designed to block oxygen, moisture, aroma, and light. They are widely used across industries to preserve product integrity, extend shelf life, and ensure safety.

1. Food Packaging (Largest Application)

Fresh & Perishable Foods: Protect meat, seafood, dairy (cheese, yogurt), fresh produce, and ready-to-eat meals from oxidation and microbial growth.
Processed Foods: Used for snacks, confectionery, jellies, sauces, soups, and frozen foods to maintain crispness, flavor, and prevent freezer burn.
Beverages & Dairy: Flavored milk, juice, and aseptic packaging for long-term storage.
Thermoformed Trays: PP/EVOH/PP sheets for vacuum/modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) of chilled meats and prepared foods.

2. Pharmaceutical & Medical Packaging

Drug Protection: Shield tablets, capsules, powders, and liquids from moisture, oxygen, and light to maintain efficacy and stability.
Sterile Packaging: For medical devices, surgical supplies, and blister packs, resisting microbial penetration and supporting sterilization processes.
Nutraceuticals: Preserve vitamins, supplements, and sensitive ingredients.
