What Can Be Built Into the Mold

Embossed logos and marks. Raised or recessed text and symbols formed into lids and tray surfaces. Depth must respect wall thickness — too deep and the area thins and whitens.

Texture. Fine grain hides minor surface defects, improves grip on cups, and reduces the gloss variation that betrays recycled content.

Functional signature shapes. A distinctive stack rib, a curved wall panel, an asymmetric compartment layout: competitors can copy the idea but not your tool.

Colour through the material. Masterbatch-coloured sheet plus embossing reads as a complete brand system without any secondary process.

Design Rules That Keep It Producible

• Keep emboss depth proportional to local wall thickness; as a working reference, shallow relief forms cleanly, deep relief needs thicker starting gauge
• Place marks away from sealing rims — a rim with an embossed logo is a rim that leaks
• Round every edge of raised features to avoid stress-whitening during denesting
• Remember the trim: features near the trim line complicate the cutting die
