What the corner-pin unit does

The corner pins run inside the forming station and pull the finished cup free of the mold in a controlled way rather than letting it drop. Benefits are practical:

• The unit hands the cup to the stacking chute at a fixed orientation, so sleeving can be automated
• Cycle time becomes more consistent because the ejection step no longer depends on operator timing

Stacking and counting

Automatic stackers count to a preset sleeve quantity and push the stack out for bagging. On the FS-8556 full-servo platform the stacking signal is taken from the machine controller, so a missed cup is detected rather than silently shipped.

Automation pays back fastest on long runs of one format, typically above 200,000 cups per shift. For a plant running five formats a week, the changeover effort may outweigh the saving; in that case partial automation, such as automatic take-off without automated sleeving, is the better step.
