Four Checks Before Sheet Leaves a Longsheng Line

Time: 2026-11-07 11:36:31.601

Check one: thickness and profile

Measure across the width at several points, not only in the middle, and compare with the tolerance on the drawing. A sheet that is within tolerance in the centre and thin at the edges will produce light cups at the outer cavities. Keep the gauge chart with the roll number.

Check two: width and edge quality

Width decides how many cavities the sheet will yield. Edge condition decides whether the sheet tracks straight in the next machine. Ragged or wavy edges usually come from a dull slitter or from trim tension that pulls the web sideways.

Check three: visual defects

Against a light box, look for gels, black specks, scratches, flow lines and moisture streaks. Record position and repeat distance, because a defect that repeats is a machine problem and a defect that wanders is a material problem.

Check four: flatness and winding quality

Lay a length on a flat table and measure the curl. Sheet with residual curl will not sit flat in the heater of a thermoformer, and the resulting parts warp. At the roll, check for telescoping, blocking and edge crush.

Record, then release

A release ticket carrying these four results, the roll number and the operator's name turns quality from opinion into data. When a customer complains three weeks later, the ticket answers the question.
